Kammula busy with 'Kahaani' remake, wants no distraction

Chennai, Feb 7 (IANS): Filmmaker Sekhar Kammula says his plan to remake Telugu college drama "Happy Days" has been put on hold as he is too busy with the "Kahaani" remake to focus on any other project.

The superhit Hindi thriller "Kahaani", a woman's revenge story, is being remade in Tamil and Telugu and it is being co-produced by Endemol India, Logline Productions Pvt. Ltd and Select Media Holdings Pvt Ltd. It will go on the floors soon.

"At present I'm busy preparing myself for 'Kahaani' remake and that's keeping me extremely busy. The idea to remake 'Happy Days' is still on but it will take time because I have a bigger priority at hand," Sekhar told IANS.

"Since this film ('Kahaani') is a bilingual, there's lot of work involved even before we start shooting. I want to shift all focus on the project and don't want to have any distractions," he added.

Nayanthara has been roped in to play the role of Vidya Balan in the remake, which will be adapted and customised to the local sensibilities.

Renowned Telugu novelist, Yandamoori Veerendranath, will co-write the adaptation along with Sekhar Kammula.
