Samant Chauhan to open flagship store in Patna

New Delhi, Jan 29 (IANS): Designer Samant Chauhan, who hails from a village near Bhagalpur in Bihar, is set to open his first flagship store in Patna. He feels tier-II and tier-III cities are witnessing tremendous growth in terms of fashion and lifestyle.

"I am launching my first flagship store in Patna in the first week of February this year. I am really looking forward to that," Chauhan told IANS.

"I have another store opening in the capital (New Delhi), but I wanted to start the Patna store first," added the designer.

His label, Samant Chauhan, is stocked in multi-designer stores across India and abroad.

Chauhan's flagship store will open near A.N. College located at Boring Canal Road. He feels his store will open up designer options for the fashion conscious in such places.

"I think people are crazy about fashion there, but it's just that they don't have options. There is so much potential in small cities. A designer's job is to explore the possibilities and this is what I am trying to do," he added.

He is already doing his bit by creating his luxury pret collection, using traditional Bhagalpuri hand-woven silk, and reaching out to the global market.
