Washington: M'lorean Bradly Wins Presidential Inaugural Contest

Media Release

Washington, Jan 13:
Bradly Ivan D'Souza, a senior at Sycamore High School, Cincinnati, Ohio, has been selected as the winner in the high school presidential inaugural conference question submission contest.

Bradly will have the opportunity to ask the chosen question during the question and answer portion of General Wesley Clark's keynote presentation. In addition, Bradly will also receive a photograph with General Clark.

The eyes of the nation and of the world will be focused on this historic inauguration of President Barack Obama taking the oath in front of the public on January 21, as this unique event is held only once every four years in conjunction with one of the United States’ most historic and celebrated occasions.

One of the most tangible benefits Bradly will earn by attending the inaugural conference is a personalized letter of participation that details his attendance at the conference and describes the valuable educational components and experiences of the program. All attending scholars like Bradly, who complete the inaugural conference, receive a personalized certificate of excellence.

Bradly will get an opportunity to demonstrate his enthusiasm and motivation to enhance his skills and continue growing and developing as a student and as a leader. Bradly will step outside his ‘comfort zone’ and challenge himself among the highest achieving students in the world and make long-lasting connections and friendships with other motivated students who share the same interest.

Bradly will practice and apply valuable public speaking, advocacy, research, teamwork and collaboration and leadership skills through their simulations and interactive curriculum, improve his self-confidence and self-esteem, practice the ability to listen to others and be tolerant of other opinions/beliefs, gain independence and make friends outside of his normal social settings. Bradly will gain valuable insight into careers in politics, broadcasting, and campaign management and in other areas that he may have an interest in pursuing and discover new careers that he may not have ever considered.

Bradly will fly from Cincinnati to Washington DC on January 19, to be a part of the historic celebration of the inauguration of the President of the United States, something he will remember for the rest of his life.

This extra-ordinary boy Bradly (17) and his brother Rohan (14) are the sons of Harold and Dancy D'Souza. Both Bradly and Rohan, have received Presidential Volunteer Service Award, for 2012, with an accompanying letter from President Barack Obama and a 'gold' pin for four consecutive years.
