Mangalore: Centenary Celebrations Begin St Francis Xavier Church Ferar

Mangalore, Dec 1: On the occasion of the centenary celebrations, the Religious Day was celebrated in St Francis Xavier Church Ferar on December 1. 

The Religious Day celebrations began by celebrating the holy Eucharistic mass at 10 am. The Holy Eucharistic Mass was concelebrated by 15 priests, Fr Basil Pereira being the main celebrant.

The Homily was delivered by Fr Maxim Noronha, procurator of Mangalore diocese. The Parishioner Priests, Religious Sisters and also the Priests from various Churches of the Diocese of Mangalore and Religious Sisters of various Congregations were present.

The Holy Eucharistic celebration was followed by a formal gathering of the parishioner priests and religious sisters along with their family members in the Church Hall.

Sr Wilberta, Superior General of Bethany presided over. Fr Rosario proposed the toast. Sr Stephania former Provincial of the Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions was the guest of honor.

Parish Priest Dr Pius Fidelis Pinto welcomed the gathering.  Lancy Cutinha, the pastoral parishad secretary proposed the vote of thanks.  A memento in commemoration of the event was honored to the entire parish religious present.
