Washington, Oct 13 (IANS): A 10-year-old boy in the US shot and injured his 15-year-old sister over an argument and then killed himself, Xinhua reported.
The incident occurred Thursday night at a home outside of the Texas city of Huntsville.
According to TV channel ABC13, after arguing with his sister, the boy reportedly went to a safe, retrieved a handgun and shot her several times, striking her in the shoulder, abdomen and leg. He then trained the gun on himself and killed self.
The children's mother, who was home at the time of the shooting, heard the gunshots and called 911, according to the report.
The boy died in hospital while the girl underwent a surgery and is listed in critical condition, it added.
