Bomb Scare on US Airliner

Washington, Aug 21 (IANS): A Houston-bound US airliner experienced a bomb threat Monday.

The incident occurred in the morning when the Southwest Airlines plane was undertaking a flight from El Paso county in far west Texas state to the Hobby airport in Houston city, Xinhua reported.

According to The Houston Chronicle's website, a person called up and told a dispatcher that a note stated a bomb was onboard the flight 24.

A spokeswoman for the airlines confirmed that a hand-written note was found on the plane about 11 a.m. (local time), and the plane continued its journey to Houston. It landed safely as the bomb threat was considered non-credible.

The plane was inspected and was found to be safe after arriving in the Houston airport.
