Los Angeles, Aug 17 (IANS): Actress Penelope Cruz donned the avatar of moustached gaming hero Mario for an advertisement.
She looked almost unrecognisable in the Spanish TV ad for the game "New Super Mario Bros 2". She features with her real-life sister Monica in the ad, reports thesun.co.uk.
The ad starts with the siblings battling to surpass each other's scores on their respective Nintento DS consoles. Unleashing her competitive streak, the "Nine" star is filmed playing Mario on an outdoor sofa.
Completely engrossed in her virtual world, the screen siren yells: "Come on, Mario. Let's go. Good boy."
Then Monica shows up with her blue console and ends up beating her sibling, playing Mario's brother Luigi.
The clip ends with Penelope standing on the street in full Mario's avatar as Monica looks on laughing.
