Pakistani PM Visits Afghanistan


Kabul, Jul 19 (IANS): Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf arrived here Thursday on his maiden day-long visit to Afghanistan, an official said.

Ashraf is scheduled to hold talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and other leaders on bilateral issues as well as the peace and reconciliation process in the militancy-hit country, Xinhua quoted the official as saying.

The Pakistan prime minister will also meet with the Chairman of Afghan High Peace Council Salahuddin Rabbani.

Karzai will hold a trilateral meeting with Ashraf and British Prime Minister David Cameron later Thursday.

Ashraf will also inaugurate a new complex of Pakistan's embassy in Kabul later in the day.
