Kochi, Oct 18: The Elamakkara police on Saturday arrested an Odisha native for allegedly murdering her husband and dumping his body on railway tracks near Edappally in an attempt to make the death appear accidental.

The deceased, a 31-year-old man from Odisha, was allegedly killed by his wife at their rented house in Edappally. Police suspect that she later placed his body on the railway tracks to make it look like a railway accident.

According to the police, the alleged murder followed the husband’s attempts to harass the woman’s child from her first marriage. However, the exact motive behind the crime is yet to be established.

As per the FIR, the body was spotted on the railway tracks near Edappally railway station at around 1.20 am on Saturday. The police launched an investigation and subsequently arrested the woman.
