Lourdes Central School holds Term I open house for KG to grade XII

Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 9: At Lourdes Central School, education is a shared endeavour, strengthened by the partnership between home and school. The open house for Term I, held on Friday, October 9, brought together parents, teachers and students from KG to grade XII for meaningful conversations on student progress and development.

The morning commenced with a staff assembly led by the office staff. Addressing the teachers, the principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira, emphasised the importance of fostering an atmosphere of partnership with parents. He urged the staff to cultivate relationships founded on trust, mutual respect and open communication, reminding them that the growth and development of every student are best supported when home and school work towards a common purpose.

The successful conduct of the open house was spearheaded by the principal, who personally oversaw the preparations and proceedings, attending to every detail with care. From reviewing the arrangements to monitoring the smooth execution of assigned duties, he ensured that the event progressed seamlessly. His hands-on involvement reflected the importance of thoughtful planning, coordinated teamwork and purposeful leadership in creating a welcoming environment for parents.

Careful preparations preceded the arrival of parents, with classrooms and seating arranged and learning displays updated to facilitate meaningful interactions. Staff members were assigned ushering duties across the KG, Main and S J Blocks, ensuring that parents could navigate the campus and reach the designated classrooms with ease.

Throughout the morning, parents met with class and subject teachers to discuss their wards’ academic performance, acknowledge achievements and identify areas requiring further attention. These conversations provided an opportunity to exchange observations, address concerns and explore constructive ways to support each learner’s progress. Beyond marks and assessments, the interactions underscored the importance of understanding each child’s individual needs and responding with patience, encouragement and purposeful guidance.

The open house reaffirmed a fundamental principle of education: a student’s progress is not the responsibility of the school or the family alone. It emerges from the shared commitment of teachers and parents, whose complementary roles create the conditions for learning, confidence and personal growth. When communication is open and expectations are aligned, challenges become opportunities for improvement and every child receives stronger, more consistent support.

The session concluded with the school community reassuring its commitment to the holistic development of every learner. At Lourdes Central School, the pursuit of academic excellence remains inseparable from the larger purpose of nurturing each child’s potential. The open house served as a reminder that when home and school work in partnership, every conversation becomes an opportunity to build a brighter future for the child.
