Goa CM Sawant flags off Seva Jyoti Yatra marking PM Modi’s 25 years in public office

Panaji, Oct 7: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday flagged off the Seva Jyoti Yatra in Sankhali, marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s journey in public office and highlighting his rise from a party worker to the head of government.

Speaking at the event, Sawant said Modi’s journey since becoming Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001 reflected his commitment to public service and the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.

Sawant said the Seva Jyoti Yatra represented a resolve to strengthen Swayampurna Goa and contribute towards the goal of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Prime Minister Modi completed 25 years at the helm of government on Wednesday, having first assumed office as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, before serving three consecutive terms as Prime Minister since 2014.

On the occasion, Modi offered prayers and performed rituals at the Shri Vinayak Temple in New Delhi, seeking the happiness, prosperity and well-being of citizens.

The Union Cabinet also passed a resolution congratulating Modi on completing 25 years of continuous leadership as head of government.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several other senior leaders congratulated Modi on the milestone, highlighting his tenure in public service and governance.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recalled Modi’s rise from a grassroots party worker to leading the country, while Union Minister Piyush Goyal described his journey in state and national leadership as being marked by resolve, service and inclusive development.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also praised Modi’s vision, saying his journey from Gujarat had evolved into a national movement focused on hope and self-reliance.
