Margao, Sep 3: A 16-year-old boy died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a four-wheeler at Amrutnagar, Gogol, Margao, on Tuesday night. Fatorda police have registered a case against his father for allegedly allowing the minor to ride a two-wheeler.
The deceased has been identified as Abel Menezes of Curtorim. His father, Rui Menezes, a former sarpanch of Curtorim panchayat, has been charged with allegedly permitting his minor son to ride the motorcycle despite him being below the legal driving age.

The accident occurred around 10.15 pm when Abel’s motorcycle collided with a four-wheeler belonging to Raunak Raikar, 26, of Pajifond, Margao.
Abel sustained serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to the post-mortem report, he succumbed to grievous internal injuries to the mouth, chest and abdomen.
Further investigation is under way.
