Goa police suspend five personnel over misconduct, corruption allegations

Panaji, Sep 2: Goa Police have suspended five personnel over allegations of misconduct, corruption and violations of service rules, officials said.

Those suspended include Head Clerk Mukund Menkurkar/Lamgaonkar, Lower Division Clerk (LDC) Pratap Sawant, Constables Gauresh Gawas and Sumesh Mandrekar, and Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Viraj Sawant.

The department has also initiated disciplinary proceedings against all five personnel in connection with the allegations.

The suspensions will remain subject to the outcome of the departmental proceedings, with further action to be decided based on the findings of the inquiry.
