Colva, Aug 11: South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus on Monday said police will register FIRs against owners of properties where bullfights are organised.
Cleetus said fortnightly review meetings are being held to monitor the issue and that steps will be taken to prevent bullfights in the district.
The statement comes after Colva police registered a case against two persons for allegedly organising a bullfight at Grande Pulwaddo, Benaulim, on Sunday evening.

Police have named Manuel Jesus Vaz alias Manu, a resident of Sinquetim, Navelim, and Minguel of Ascona, Benaulim, in the FIR for allegedly organising a dhirio for public entertainment.
The Collector said authorities would continue monitoring such activities and take action against those involved.
