Mumbai, Aug 2: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol recreated one of his iconic dialogues from the 1996 blockbuster Ghatak while promoting his upcoming period drama Batwara 1947 in Patna, drawing an enthusiastic response from fans.

Sunny, accompanied by his son Karan Deol, who is also part of the film's cast, interacted with a large gathering during the promotional event. In a video shared by Aamir Khan Productions and later reposted by the actor on his official social media handle, Sunny delivered his memorable Ghatak dialogue, "Satoo to saath marunga, ek saath marunga, ghar main ghus kar marunga," prompting loud cheers from the crowd.

In another video from the event, the actor said he was visiting Bihar after nearly three decades.

Sunny and Karan launched the promotional campaign for Batwara 1947 on Sunday and were earlier spotted by photographers on their arrival at Patna airport.

The film reunites Sunny Deol with director Rajkumar Santoshi nearly three decades after their successful collaboration on Ghatak.

Besides Sunny, Batwara 1947 stars Shabana Azmi, Preity G. Zinta, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles.

The recently released trailer suggests that the film revolves around a family whose lives are shattered by violence, fear and forced migration during the Partition of India.

The film also marks Preity Zinta's return to the big screen after an eight-year hiatus.

Batwara 1947 is believed to be adapted from Asghar Wajahat's acclaimed play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai, which explores themes of Partition, identity and communal harmony.

Released on November 15, 1996, Ghatak, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and featuring Meenakshi Seshadri, Danny Denzongpa and Amrish Puri alongside Sunny Deol, emerged as a major box-office success and remains one of the actor's most celebrated films.
