Mangaluru, Aug 1: The department of BCom, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, conducted an ACCA orientation programme on July 31 in association with the MyLogic team at the college premises to familiarise students with the ACCA qualification, its global career opportunities, examination structure and to felicitate ACCA achievers.
The programme began with a welcome address followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp.
Delivering the keynote address, Balachandra Salgundi, a certified management accountant, Kaustubh Puthran, wing head, MyLogic Business Management School, and Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, Institute of Management and Commerce, briefed students on the importance of ACCA as a globally recognised qualification in finance and accounting. They explained the course structure, international career prospects and the growing demand for ACCA-qualified professionals.





A felicitation ceremony was held to honour ACCA achievers for their hard work and outstanding performance. Their achievements were highlighted as a source of inspiration and motivation for junior students aspiring to pursue the qualification.
The programme also featured an interactive session during which students actively participated and sought clarification on various aspects of the ACCA course, including examination exemptions, career opportunities and future prospects.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, faculty members and students for their participation.
According to the organisers, the orientation programme was informative and well received by the students. It created greater awareness about the global opportunities available through the ACCA qualification and encouraged students to pursue the course with discipline and dedication.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, Institute of Management and Commerce, Prof Sharmila S Shetty, head of the department of BCom, and Prof Yashashwi A Ail, ACCA course coordinator, with the coordination and support of all BCom faculty members.
