Mumbai, Jul 30: With just over two weeks left for its theatrical release, the makers of 'Awarapan 2' have unveiled a new motion poster featuring Emraan Hashmi reprising his role as Shivam Pandit, while also teasing the film's rendition of the iconic song 'Tera Mera Rishta'.

The recreated track brings back one of the most memorable songs from the 2007 film. Lyricist Sayeed Quadri, who penned the original version, has returned to write the new lyrics, while Mithoon has composed the music. Singer Subodhh Sharma has lent his voice to the song, marking his third track in the sequel.

The makers have released only a promotional glimpse of the song, with the full version expected to be launched soon.

The sequel picks up from where the original film concluded. Although Shivam Pandit was presumed dead after being shot multiple times in the climax of Awarapan, the teaser of the sequel reveals that he survives. It shows Tibetan monks nursing him back to health before Shivam says, "Maut bhi ajeeb hai, usne mujhe chhua par apnaya nahi," hinting at the next phase of his journey.

Producer Vishesh Bhatt said Awarapan 2 continues the story of the original film while introducing new characters alongside familiar faces.

He expressed hope that the world of Awarapan would extend beyond a single film and thanked everyone associated with the franchise for being part of its journey.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Aniruddh Rawal and Atul Kumar in key roles.

Presented by Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2026, when it will clash at the box office with Sunny Deol's 'Batwara 1947'.
