United Nations, Jul 15: The United States has accused China of failing to do enough to prevent the flow of goods and technology with potential military applications to Iran and Yemen's Houthi rebels, alleging violations of a United Nations arms embargo.
US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz told the UN Security Council late on Tuesday that "states like Iran, and to some degree companies and entities in China, have violated" a UN resolution imposing an arms embargo on the Houthis "with little consequence".

During a heated exchange with China's representative at the Security Council, Waltz clarified that he was referring to "dual-use" items and satellite imagery allegedly supplied to Iran and the Houthis.
He said the materials had legitimate civilian applications but had also been used "to threaten our partners, civilian aircraft, and commercial shipping".
China has not publicly responded to Waltz's latest allegations.
