Nalgonda, Jun 23: Four members of a family, including two children, were found dead inside their house in Telangana’s Nalgonda district after neighbours alerted police following a foul smell coming from the residence.

The incident came to light on Monday when locals noticed the unusual smell and informed authorities. A police team reached the spot and broke open the locked doors of the house, where they found four bodies lying inside in a highly decomposed condition.

The deceased were identified as Sheikh Sultan, his wife Haseena and their two children.

According to preliminary investigation, police suspect that the family may have died by suicide after allegedly consuming pesticide. However, officials said the exact cause of death would be confirmed only after a detailed investigation and post-mortem examination.

Sheikh Sultan was reportedly running a bag business in Nalgonda to support his family.

Police have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
