Mumbai, May 30: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Mumbai have been increased by ?2 per kilogram, while the rates of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supplied to households have also been revised upward, adding to the burden on consumers.
The revised rates came into effect immediately, with the city gas distributor citing higher input costs and supply-related factors behind the increase.
Following the hike, CNG users, particularly owners of public transport vehicles, taxis and private vehicles running on the fuel, will face higher operating expenses. Domestic consumers using piped natural gas for cooking will also see an increase in their monthly utility bills.

The price revision comes at a time when fuel costs have been witnessing fluctuations amid ongoing global energy market uncertainties and supply disruptions.
Officials said the increase was necessary to offset rising procurement costs and ensure uninterrupted supply of natural gas to consumers.
The latest revision is expected to impact lakhs of households and vehicle owners across Mumbai and surrounding areas that depend on CNG and PNG for daily use.
