Mumbai, May 16: Actor Delnaaz Irani has opened up about her cameo appearance in Hui Gumm Yaadein, while also expressing joy over reuniting with her former co-star Iqbal Khan from the show Karam Apna Apna.

Speaking about working with Khan again after several years, Irani described the experience as warm and fulfilling. She said their earlier show had created many memorable moments, and reconnecting on set felt equally special. She praised Khan’s personality, calling him calm, cheerful, and easy to work with.

In the upcoming project, Irani portrays Chandni Khanna, a former film superstar whose character reflects the fading spotlight that often comes with age. The role highlights a once-celebrated actress who now grapples with being overlooked by media, fans, and the entertainment industry.

Irani noted that the character carries a strong social message, addressing issues such as ageism and body shaming—topics she felt needed to be portrayed more openly on screen.

She also explained that the decision to take up the cameo was driven entirely by the strength of the role, rather than its length. According to her, even brief appearances can be meaningful if the character has depth and relevance.

The actor added that her previous collaboration with the production house Sobo Films, through the show Rajnandani, made her comfortable returning to work with the team. She appreciated the professionalism on set and the supportive working environment.

Irani also praised director Noel Smit, saying his calm approach and clarity in execution helped the production run smoothly. She further commended the cast and crew for their respectfulness and coordination throughout the shoot.
