New Delhi, May 15: The national capital woke up to a warm Friday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 26.2 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather department has forecast the possibility of very light to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph, gusting up to 50 kmph during the morning hours.

According to IMD data, the Palam weather station recorded a minimum temperature of 24.6 degrees Celsius, while Lodhi Road registered 25.8 degrees Celsius. The Ridge station logged 24.3 degrees Celsius and Ayanagar recorded 25.6 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has predicted partly cloudy skies through the day, with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 41 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 160 at 9 am, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category, as per data released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Under the AQI scale, readings between 0 and 50 are categorised as ‘good’, 51 to 100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 as ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 as ‘poor’, 301 to 400 as ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 as ‘severe’.
