Chimbel residents protest delay in issuance of income certificates

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, May 12: Residents of Chimbel staged a protest at the village panchayat office over alleged delays in the issuance of income certificates, claiming that the process has been repeatedly stalled due to the pending signature of the Sarpanch.

Villagers expressed frustration over the prolonged wait, stating that income certificates are essential for several official procedures, including educational admissions, scholarships, government schemes, and other administrative requirements.

According to the protesters, repeated visits to the panchayat office have failed to resolve the issue, causing unnecessary hardship to applicants and their families.

The residents urged panchayat authorities to simplify and expedite the documentation process to ensure that important certificates are issued without delay. They also called for greater accountability and timely clearance of pending applications to prevent inconvenience to the public.
