Srinagar, May 7: In a continued drive against narcotics under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, police in Srinagar have attached immovable properties worth over Rs 2 crore belonging to alleged drug traffickers in the Chanapora and Qamarwari areas.
According to a police statement, the action is part of intensified efforts to dismantle the financial foundations of drug trafficking networks by targeting assets acquired through illegal means.

In the first case, Police Station Chanapora attached a double-storey residential house with an attic valued at around Rs 1 crore. The property belongs to Huzaif Shabir Dar, who is accused in an NDPS case registered under FIR No. 01/2024 under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Investigators concluded that the property was purchased using proceeds from drug trafficking.
Authorities confirmed that the attachment was carried out under legal provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, following due procedure and in the presence of independent witnesses. The accused has been barred from selling, transferring, leasing, or creating any third-party rights over the property until further orders.
In a separate action, Police Post Qamarwari attached another double-storey residential house linked to Basit Ahmad Baba, also known as Aikan, an alleged drug peddler. The property, recorded in the name of his father, is located at Barthana, Qamarwari, and is estimated to be worth over Rs 1 crore.
Officials said the attachment was executed under Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985, as part of sustained legal action against assets derived from the narcotics trade.
Police reiterated that the operation is aimed not only at arresting offenders but also at dismantling the broader economic ecosystem that supports drug trafficking in the region.
They further appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting drug-related activities, stressing that community participation is essential to building a safer and drug-free society.
