E-waste collection drive by SMVITM NSS–YRC unit achieves remarkable milestone

Media Release

Udupi, May 7: The NSS–YRC unit of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) has successfully conducted its annual E-waste collection drive for the second consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible waste management.

With this achievement, the NSS–YRC unit has now crossed a significant milestone, having collected over 500 kilograms of E-waste across both years of the campaign. All collected waste has been responsibly handed over to an authorized recycling agency, ensuring safe and eco-friendly disposal.

The programme aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of improper E-waste disposal and encourage individuals to adopt sustainable practices. Volunteers actively engaged in educating participants about recycling methods and the importance of reducing electronic waste.
