Panaji, May 6: A video of a woman recounting a terrifying parasailing incident in Goa has gone viral on social media, raising fresh concerns over safety standards in water sports activities at popular tourist destinations.
In the video, the woman described how a recreational parasailing ride nearly turned fatal when she was repeatedly dunked into the sea while being brought back to the boat. She alleged that the rope got entangled around her neck, leaving her struggling in panic.

“A minute of thrill… almost cost me everything,” she captioned the post, adding that she experienced fear and helplessness as she lost control mid-air and in the water.
The footage shows the final moments of the ride, with the woman being dragged close to the water surface. Voices of people laughing in the background have also drawn criticism online, with many users calling it insensitive.
Sharing her ordeal, she said, “I was lucky someone came and saved me, but not everyone gets a second chance,” urging tourists to verify safety measures before participating in adventure activities.
The video has triggered widespread reactions, with several social media users highlighting the risks associated with poorly regulated water sports. Many stressed the need for trained personnel, proper equipment, and stricter enforcement of safety protocols.
Goa, a major beach destination attracting tourists from across India and abroad, is known for adventure sports like parasailing, jet skiing and banana boat rides. However, incidents like this have once again brought the spotlight on the importance of ensuring safety in such activities.
