Noida International Airport names Nitu Samra interim CEO after regulatory directive

Noida, Apr 24: Noida International Airport (NIA) on Friday announced a leadership change following a regulatory directive mandating that the chief executive officer of any airport in India must be an Indian national.

In line with the direction from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the airport appointed Nitu Samra as interim chief executive officer with immediate effect, pending a formal selection process by the board of directors.

In a statement, NIA said Samra will lead the airport on an interim basis until the board concludes the appointment of a permanent CEO.

Samra has been serving as chief financial officer of Noida International Airport since October 2021 and has played a key role in the project’s financial management, governance and strategic planning during its development phase.

The airport said the transition follows regulatory compliance requirements and comes at a crucial stage as the greenfield airport project moves towards operational readiness.
