Sahyadri College, Mangaluru to sign consultancy MoU with CHRIST University, Bengaluru

Mangaluru, Apr 23: CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, is widely recognised for its academic excellence, value-based education, and strong industry integration across disciplines. The institution has consistently demonstrated leadership in higher education.

CHRIST University and its wing, the CHRIST Incubation and Consultancy Foundation (CICF) is signing a Consultancy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, on April 25, at the Sahyadri Campus, Adyar, Mangaluru.

The collaboration will focus on the development and enhancement of the newly launched programs for 2026-27, namely the bachelor of business administration (BBA), bachelor of computer applications (BCA), and master of computer applications (MCA) programs, to formalise a strategic academic collaboration.

Christ University’s department of computer science and statistics is ranked No. 1, and its BBA program under the School of Business and Management ranked No. 2 in India, as per India Today rankings.

Known for its robust curriculum design, research orientation, and focus on holistic student development, CHRIST continues to set benchmarks in management and technology education, making it a sought-after partner for academic collaborations.

The MoU marks the culmination of constructive engagement and detailed discussions between the two institutions, thereby laying a strong foundation for a meaningful and long-term academic partnership in the interests of the student community of the coastal region.

Dr S S Injaganeri, principal and Dr Vishal Samartha, director - MBA program, along with the senior management and academic leaders will lead the signing of the MoU and from Christ University Dr Anil Pinto, registrar; Dr Shrinivas K, head - School of Business and Management; Dr Vinay M, head - department of computer science, statistics and data science, Dr D Sandhya, program coordinator from Yeshwanthpur Campus, Bengaluru will lead it.

The partnership will primarily focus on industry-aligned, NEP 2020-compliant curriculum that integrates emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and cloud computing for the BCA program. The BBA program shall include business analytics, digital marketing, logistics and supply chain management, retailing, finance, marketing, and HR.

This MoU will focus on strengthening the faculty competencies through structured training, workshops, and mentoring initiatives.

Further, the MoU will also enhance the students' learning through experiential and project-based learning approaches, including hackathons, coding bootcamps, and academic immersion programs. The collaboration will further support institutional quality enhancement through Outcome-Based Education (OBE), accreditation readiness (NAAC, NBA), and academic governance practices. In addition, the MoU will facilitate collaborative research, industry partnerships, faculty and student exchange opportunities, while enabling an ICT-enabled learning environment, virtual labs, and digital infrastructure development.

Sahyadri College has also introduced two new programs effective from academic year 2026-27, namely electronics & computer engineering (UG) and M Tech in VLSI design & embedded system and an increase in intake of the MBA program to 240 students from 180.

The MoU with Christ University will definitely be unique in nature and thus enhance the faculty competencies, students' learning abilities and also mutually benefit both the organizations.
