Satna, Apr 21: In a shocking incident, the body of an 11-year-old boy was found stuffed inside a plastic drum at his residence in Satna, sending shockwaves across the locality.
The gruesome discovery was made on Monday after the boy’s mother, Asha, returned home with her daughter and found the house locked from outside despite lights and a cooler running inside. When repeated attempts to get a response from the child failed, she alerted the police.
Upon arrival, police broke open the lock and entered the house, where they found blood splattered on the walls and a pillow. A blue plastic drum in one corner of the room raised suspicion, with blood reportedly seeping out.

When the drum was opened, the boy’s body was found inside with his throat slit and covered with clothes, indicating an attempt to conceal the crime.
The victim had recently completed his Class 5 examinations.
Suspicion has fallen on a local laundry shop owner, Mathura Rajak, who is currently absconding. The family alleged that he had been pressuring the boy’s mother for marriage and may have committed the crime after she repeatedly rejected his advances.
The victim’s sister claimed that the accused killed her brother in anger and used a sharp weapon in the attack.
Police have formed multiple teams to trace the accused. A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Shivensh Singh said the investigation is at an early stage and confirmed that a sharp weapon was used in the murder, though the exact details are yet to be established.
Further legal action will be taken based on evidence and statements as the probe progresses.
