IMD issues yellow alert for Goa amid rising heat and humidity

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Apr 14: The India Meteorological Department has placed Goa under a Yellow Alert for April 15 and 16, cautioning residents about increasingly hot and humid conditions across both North and South Goa.

According to the forecast, the region is expected to witness a surge in temperature combined with high humidity levels, leading to uncomfortable weather over the next two days.

Authorities have urged people to take precautionary measures, including:
• Staying well-hydrated
• Avoiding direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours
• Wearing light, breathable clothing

The advisory is part of IMD’s effort to minimise health risks associated with heat stress, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions.
