Samrat Choudhary set to become Bihar Chief Minister as Nitish Kumar resigns

Patna, Apr 14: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary is set to take over as the next Chief Minister of the state after Nitish Kumar stepped down on Tuesday, ending his long tenure of more than two decades.

With this development, the BJP is expected to form its first government in Bihar with its own Chief Minister, marking a significant political shift in the state.

Soon after the announcement, Choudhary expressed gratitude to the BJP leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the state.

Taking to social media platform X, he said the opportunity was more than a position, calling it a “sacred opportunity” to serve the people of Bihar and work towards fulfilling their hopes and aspirations.

He further pledged to carry out his responsibilities with full dedication, commitment, and integrity, stating that he would strive to live up to the trust placed in him by the people of Bihar.
