New Jersey, Apr 13: At least one person was killed and six others injured in a mass shooting at a Chick-fil-A outlet in Union Township, authorities said.
Police responded to reports of gunfire around 9 pm local time on April 11. According to the Union County Prosecutor's Office, several masked suspects entered the restaurant, moved behind the counter and opened fire.
Officers found seven victims at the scene, one of whom was later pronounced dead. The six others sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far. Preliminary findings suggest the attack was not random, and authorities have indicated there is no immediate threat to the general public.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and share any information that could assist the investigation. Union County Crime Stoppers has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Union Township Mayor Patricia Guerra-Frazier said the incident has left the community “heartbroken and shaken,” adding that local authorities are working closely to bring those responsible to justice.
New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport described the shooting as “horrifying,” while Governor Mikie Sherrill said her office is in close contact with officials and praised first responders for their swift action.
Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack.
