6 killed, several injured in bus-truck collision in UP’s Hapur

Hapur, Apr 13: At least six persons were killed and several others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on the Dhaulana-Gulawati road in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district.

According to police, the accident occurred when a bus carrying passengers returning from a wedding procession rammed into a truck. Police teams rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the alert and launched a rescue operation.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where seven persons are currently undergoing care.

Hapur Superintendent of Police Gyananjay Singh said six people died on the spot, while the condition of the injured is being monitored.

“The truck has been removed from the spot and traffic has been normalised. Family members of the victims have arrived and legal procedures are underway,” he said.

He added that there were 12 people on board the bus, and one individual remains unidentified, suspected to be the driver.
