Canacona, Apr 11: Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar on Friday announced a comprehensive job roadmap along with the establishment of training centres in the constituency, as he inaugurated several developmental works including a drainage project at Agas–Loliem.
Speaking after launching the ?40 lakh drainage construction work, Tawadkar said the focus is now shifting from physical infrastructure development to human development, aimed at enhancing employment opportunities and improving overall quality of life for residents.
He said a team from Delhi has been invited to help prepare a long-term human development roadmap for the constituency, which is expected to take months to design and several years to implement.

As part of the initiative, the minister announced that a permanent coaching centre for staff selection examinations will be set up in Canacona to train local youth for government recruitment processes. He further stated that a Police Bharti Prashikshan Kendra will begin functioning from April 15, offering one-month and three-month training programmes for aspirants.
Candidates completing the training will be eligible to apply for various recruitment examinations, including staff selection tests and Goa Public Service Commission posts.
Tawadkar also announced a women-focused livelihood initiative, under which participants will be trained in weaving traditional Kunbi sarees. Women enrolled in the programme will receive a monthly stipend of up to ?15,000 for one year, aimed at promoting traditional skills and generating sustainable income.
Earlier in the day, he inaugurated the drainage project at Agas–Loliem and also launched road resurfacing, strengthening and hot-mixing works at Dupyamoll, Bhatpal.
Several local representatives, including ZP member Ajit (Ajay) Lolienkar, Loliem-Polem Sarpanch AC Nisha Chari, panchayat members, former sarpanches Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, Sachin Naik and Pratiza Bandekar, and local residents were present during the programmes.
