Wild elephant damages vehicle in North Goa, sparks concern among residents

Kadshi (North Goa), Apr 6: A wild elephant named Omkar reportedly damaged a van belonging to a local resident, Umesh Gad, in Kadshi near Mopa, causing panic among villagers in the area.

The incident occurred when the elephant wandered close to human settlements and attacked the parked vehicle, leaving it partially damaged. No injuries were reported.

Locals said the encounter has heightened anxiety in the region, pointing to a growing pattern of human-elephant interactions across parts of Goa. Residents have raised concerns over wildlife straying into inhabited areas and stressed the need for stronger preventive measures to reduce the risk of conflict.
