Mangaluru, Apr 4: The Fine Arts Department of Srinivas University hosted a vibrant cultural showcase on March 31 at its Mukka campus as part of the Founders’ Day and College Day celebrations of the Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Colleges.
The event commenced with a Yakshagana performance presented by 12 students from the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University reflecting the rich heritage of coastal Karnataka under the expert guidance of Yakshaguru Ravi Alevooraya Varkadi.
This was followed by a graceful Pushpanjali, a classical Bharatanatyam performed by another group of 12 students from the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, showcasing discipline, devotion, and artistic expression. The Bharatanatyam segment was choreographed under the mentorship of Vidushi Prathibha A Kumar.






The programme concluded with ‘Shivakrithi,’ a powerful performance by 11 students from computer science engineering (SUIET) and BSc forensic science and criminology, which added a contemporary dimension to the traditional lineup.
The event was conducted successfully with the support and encouragement of the chancellor, vice chancellor, registrars and deans of the university. The showcase not only highlighted the artistic talents of the students but also reinforced the importance of preserving and promoting India’s traditional cultural art forms.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic response from students, faculties, and guests, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the campus. Each performance reflected dedication, teamwork, and creative excellence, providing a valuable platform for students to showcase their talents.
