Jaipur, Apr 2: Police in Bhilwara district have arrested 10 persons for allegedly spreading rumours about a gas and fuel shortage, officials said on Wednesday.
According to police, the accused had created and shared misleading reels on social media claiming a shortage of LPG and fuel. They were later released after completing legal formalities

Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh said preventive action was taken after authorities detected false content during social media monitoring.
“The government has already clarified that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders. Legal action will be taken against those spreading rumours,” he said.
Police identified 10 accounts involved in circulating such misinformation, reportedly to gain views and followers. The arrests were made on Tuesday from different police station limits in the district.
Officials added that the accused were made to delete the misleading videos before being released. In videos shared later by the police, the individuals were seen apologising, stating that they had created the content after watching similar posts online and confirming that no fuel shortage exists.
Police have urged the public not to create or circulate unverified information, warning that strict action will be taken against those found spreading rumours.
