Russian military plane crash in Crimea kills 29 onboard

Moscow, Apr 1: A Russian Antonov An-26 military aircraft crashed over the Crimean Peninsula, killing all 29 people on board, according to reports citing the Russian Defence Ministry.

The incident occurred on March 31 at around 6 pm Moscow time when contact was lost with the aircraft during a scheduled flight, the ministry said.

Search and rescue teams later located the crash site, confirming that all six crew members and 23 passengers had died in the accident.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash, and further investigation is expected.
