New Delhi, Mar 29: Amid rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia, India’s supply chain network remains strong and resilient, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said on Sunday, expressing confidence in the country’s preparedness.

CAIT Secretary General and Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal stated that the government has already confirmed adequate availability of essential commodities across the country, dismissing concerns about shortages or disruptions.

He highlighted that effective monitoring systems and close coordination between central and state authorities have ensured uninterrupted movement and distribution of goods. According to him, India’s supply chain framework has significantly strengthened in recent years.

Khandelwal credited the leadership of Narendra Modi for improving the country’s economic resilience through diversified sourcing, upgraded logistics infrastructure, digital tracking systems, and enhanced domestic production capabilities.

He added that initiatives focused on self-reliance and supply chain digitisation have played a key role in boosting the stability of trade and commerce, enabling India to better withstand global uncertainties.

Meanwhile, CAIT National President B C Bhartia said the organisation has advised traders nationwide to maintain smooth supply operations and avoid panic-driven decisions. Traders have also been urged to cooperate with authorities to ensure that consumers do not face any inconvenience.

Both Khandelwal and Bhartia strongly criticised the spread of rumours about shortages, calling such claims baseless and harmful. They stressed that misinformation could create unnecessary panic in markets and called for strict action against those responsible for spreading false narratives.
