Tourist killed in early morning stabbing incident in Calangute

Calangute, Mar 28: A suspected murder involving a tourist was reported from Tivai Vaddo in Calangute on Saturday morning, after a man was fatally stabbed in the early hours between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 am., police said.

Preliminary information suggests the incident may have stemmed from a dispute among a group of individuals from Gujarat, reportedly following a visit to a casino.

Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Harish Madkaikar confirmed that the victim’s identity is yet to be established. He also stated that a weapon was used in the attack.

Police teams are currently at the scene, where an e-Saksh panchanama is being conducted as part of the investigation. Further details are awaited as authorities continue to probe the circumstances leading to the incident.
