Mangaluru, Mar 27: The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with ISDC and BIL, successfully organised Professional Day 2026 along with the valedictory of Eccelenza on March 26 at L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block.
The event was held to celebrate professionalism, mentorship and academic excellence, especially on the occasion of reaching 110 plus ACCA Affiliates within a short span of five years (2021 to 2026).
The programme began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries and participants. A short prayer set a meaningful tone, seeking blessings for the success of the event. The dignitaries were then escorted to the stage, marking the formal beginning of the programme.




























The chief guest for the occasion was Anantha Lakshamana Rao, associate director at KPMG, while Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor of the University, presided over the event.
The programme was also attended by Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar; Dr Mamatha, director of BCom; Dr Manuel Tauro, dean; Dr Zeena D’Souza, associate dean; Dr Shobha, head of the department; Dr Paul D’Souza, professional batch coordinator; Dr Swathi Bhat, ACCA coordinator; and Shreenidhi BS, staff coordinator.
In his presidential address, vice chancellor Dr Praveen Martis, SJ spoke about the importance of holistic education, discipline and striving for excellence. He congratulated the ACCA affiliates and students who successfully cleared their ACCA papers, along with their parents and teachers. He highlighted key values such as competence, commitment, compassion, conscience, collaboration and creativity as essential for professional growth.
The interactive session by the chief guest, Anantha Lakshamana Rao, was one of the highlights of the event. He shared practical insights about the professional world and guided students on career planning. He emphasised the importance of combining knowledge, skills and the right attitude. He also encouraged students to learn and effectively use artificial intelligence and shared useful tips on time management.
A special felicitation ceremony was held to honour students for their achievements in professional education. ACCA affiliates and students who cleared the ACCA papers were recognised and appreciated in the presence of dignitaries, faculty members and fellow students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shreenidhi B S, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organisers, faculty and students for their support and participation. Apeksha Kottary compered the programme. The event ended on a positive note, leaving everyone inspired and motivated to pursue excellence in their professional journeys.
