Chennai, Mar 24: The makers of director Vignesh Raja’s upcoming film Kara have revealed the first look of Mamitha Baiju, introducing her character Selli from the much-anticipated action entertainer starring Dhanush.

Production house Vels Film International shared the poster on social media, teasing fans with the caption introducing Selli and hinting at more updates. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on April 30.

Originally referred to as D54, the project’s title Kara was officially announced during Pongal earlier this year. The first-look poster featuring Dhanush showcased him in an intense avatar, accompanied by the tagline: “Sometimes, staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive.”

Described as an emotionally driven suspense thriller, the film marks a collaboration between Vignesh Raja and writer Alfred Prakash, the duo behind the critically acclaimed Por Thozhil. Their partnership, known for its meticulous storytelling approach, reportedly involved extensive development before finalizing the script.

The cast includes notable names such as K. S. Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and Prithvi Pandiraj in key roles.

On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Theni Eswar, while editing is by Sreejith Sarang. The music is composed by National Award-winning G. V. Prakash Kumar.

With a strong ensemble cast and an experienced creative team, Kara is shaping up to be one of the most awaited Tamil releases of the summer.
