New Delhi, Mar 24: The budget session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly commenced on Monday with the traditional ‘Kheer Ceremony’, marking the formal start of proceedings.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reiterated her government’s commitment to the vision of a ‘Developed Delhi, Green Delhi’, stating that the upcoming budget would play a key role in meeting the aspirations of nearly 30 million residents of the national capital.
She said the ceremony symbolises prosperity, good fortune, and a commitment to public welfare, values that would be reflected in the forthcoming budget.

The event witnessed participation from various sections of society, including farmers, students, teachers, doctors, members of the transgender community, women drivers, and media personnel. Farmers also honoured the chief minister with a traditional turban.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta said the government’s second budget would accelerate development in Delhi, strengthening infrastructure and enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents.
