Patna, Mar 21: In a major breakthrough against Maoist activities in Bihar, a joint operation by the Special Task Force (STF) and Nawada Police led to the arrest of two operatives linked to the banned People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI).

The arrested individuals have been identified as Dayanand Rajvanshi, also known as ‘Gurjar’ or ‘Pappu’, and Mithlesh Rajvanshi, both residents of Hardiya village under the Rajauli police station area. Intelligence inputs had indicated their presence in the region, prompting the joint raid.

During interrogation, authorities conducted a follow-up search in the Bhanekhap forest and surrounding hilly areas, resulting in the recovery of a significant arsenal, including:

• Two standard rifles
• 20 live cartridges
• One tactical gear set with bulletproof plate
• Nine detonators
• Approximately 40 kilograms of explosives, packed separately
• Around 100 metres of Cordex (detonating cord)

Officials described the seizure as highly significant, highlighting potential preparations for disruptive activities in the region. Preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested operatives had long-standing ties to the banned outfit and were allegedly attempting to revive and intensify Maoist operations locally.

An FIR has been registered at Rajauli Police Station, and further legal proceedings are underway. Interrogation is continuing to map the broader network and identify additional links.

Authorities reiterated a strict stance against extremism, warning that any attempts to disturb law and order in the state will be dealt with firmly, emphasizing vigilance and proactive action against extremist networks.
