Los Angeles, Mar 21: Nicholas Brendon, best known for his role as Xander Harris in the popular TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has passed away, his family confirmed. He was 52.
In a statement shared on March 20, the family said Brendon died peacefully in his sleep due to natural causes.

“We are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon. He passed in his sleep of natural causes,” the statement read, while requesting privacy as they grieve his loss.
Brendon gained widespread recognition for portraying Xander Harris in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where he starred alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan from 1997 to 2003.
Following the news of his demise, co-star Hannigan paid tribute, remembering him as “sweet Nicky” and thanking him for “years of laughter and love.” Actress Emma Caulfield also shared an emotional message, expressing her grief.
Apart from his iconic television role, Brendon featured in films such as Celeste in the City, Relative Chaos, Redwood, and Coherence, and appeared in television shows including Criminal Minds, Private Practice, and Faking It.
In recent years, he had developed a passion for painting and art, which his family described as a true reflection of his personality.
Brendon had also faced personal struggles, including issues related to substance abuse and legal troubles, which he had openly spoken about in public appearances.
His passing has drawn condolences from fans and colleagues, marking the end of a career that left a lasting impact on television audiences worldwide.
