Panaji, Mar 17: Leaders in Goa paid homage to former Union Defence Minister and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on his death anniversary Tuesday.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte visited Parrikar’s memorial at Miramar, Panaji to offer his respects, while Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju laid floral tributes in honor of his legacy of integrity and visionary leadership.

Governor Raju recalled Parrikar’s pivotal role in opening defence training to women, emphasizing how he supported the phased inclusion of girl cadets once the National Defence Academy permitted female trainees.

Leaders remembered Parrikar’s unwavering commitment to public service and expressed gratitude for his contributions to both Goa and the nation, offering prayers for his eternal peace.
