Los Angeles, Mar 16: Actor Priyanka Chopra and her husband, singer-actor Nick Jonas, had a brief scare while arriving for the 98th Academy Awards in Los Angeles after the golf cart transporting them to the venue nearly tipped over.

Priyanka, who was announced as one of the presenters at the prestigious awards ceremony, arrived at the Dolby Theatre alongside Jonas. The couple turned heads on the red carpet dressed in elegant black and white outfits.

However, moments before their red carpet appearance, they experienced an adventurous ride to the venue. The couple was being driven in a golf cart from their car to the theatre when the vehicle gained speed.

Videos circulating on social media showed the cart taking a sharp turn while accelerating, causing it to rock and briefly lift one wheel off the ground. The couple held on as the cart tilted, but the driver quickly regained control and stabilised the vehicle.

Earlier, Priyanka had shared a video of the ride on social media. In the clip, she said, “We’re going to the Oscars. It’s very adventurous.” Responding humorously, Nick remarked, “I am going to play golf. I don’t know about you.”

At the ceremony, Priyanka shared the stage with acclaimed actor Javier Bardem to present the Best International Feature Film award. The honour went to the Norwegian film Sentimental Value.

Priyanka’s appearance once again underscored her status as one of the most prominent global figures connecting Hollywood with international cinema. She is among the few Indian actors to regularly feature at major global entertainment events.

This also marks another milestone in her long association with the Oscars. Priyanka first appeared as a presenter at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016, where she presented the Best Film Editing award alongside actor Liev Schreiber, a moment widely celebrated for highlighting Indian representation on the global stage.
