Mumbai, Mar 15: Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra has applauded her husband and Raghav Chadha for raising the issue of menstrual hygiene in the Rajya Sabha, calling him her “hero”.
The actress shared a video of Chadha’s speech on the Stories section of her Instagram account on Sunday, praising him for drawing attention to the challenges faced by millions of girls and women in India.
During his address in the Upper House of Parliament, Chadha highlighted the lack of access to sanitary pads, clean water, proper sanitation facilities and privacy, which often forces many girls to skip school during menstruation. He also spoke about the persistent stigma surrounding periods in the country.

Chadha stressed that menstruation is a natural biological process, but social taboos and silence have turned it into a source of embarrassment for many girls and women.
He further said menstrual hygiene should not be viewed as charity but as a basic issue linked to health, education, equality and dignity for more than 35 crore women and girls across India. According to him, real social progress will come when girls can manage menstruation with dignity and discuss it openly without stigma or fear.
Parineeti praised her husband for highlighting the issue and working towards creating awareness and change.
The actor was last seen in the streaming film Amar Singh Chamkila.
Earlier, Parineeti and Chadha were also spotted in Thailand attending a family wedding. The couple shared glimpses of their trip on Instagram, including moments spent exploring the city’s Chinatown and attending the wedding celebrations with family members.
