Hyderabad, Mar 11: Shiv Pratap Shukla will take oath as the Governor of Telangana on Wednesday.
Shukla arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad on Tuesday, where he was received by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Among those present at the airport were IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, government adviser Harkara Venugopal, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy and other senior officials.
With the Assembly Budget session scheduled to begin on March 16, the new Governor will address a joint sitting of both Houses of the state legislature on the same day.
It may be recalled that on March 5, Droupadi Murmu, President of India, appointed Shiv Pratap Shukla as the Governor of Telangana, transferring the present Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to Maharashtra.
