Valpoi, Mar 7: A tragic car accident near Anjunem Dam in Sattari on Friday claimed the lives of a couple from Bamanbhat, Merces, while two others were injured.
The deceased were identified as Mohan Vaghmode (58) and his wife Renuka Vaghmode (48). The injured, Nivrutti Vaghmode and Ratnabai Vaghmode, were rushed to the Community Health Centre, Sankhali, and later referred to GMC, Bambolim for further treatment.
The family had been returning to Goa after shopping for a wedding in Belagavi. Police said the accident occurred when the driver lost control while navigating Chorla Ghat near the dam, causing the car to veer off the road.
Valpoi police conducted the panchanama and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
